Yorkie Puppies Develop At Various Rates

No two Yorkies are the same!  Every Yorkie will develop at different rates and our being cognizant of that fact will help us address our Yorkie prudently and with care.

Yorkie Proof Your Home

Yorkies are very explorative and will inspect, investigate and try to open just about anything if it draws their interest.

Be Careful Not To Scare Or Spook Your Yorkie

A puppy can be easily scared or spooked leaving a scar that will be irreversible.  Most experts agree that between weeks 8-11 a puppy is the fear imprint period.  What transpire between these fragile weeks can have a lasting impression on a puppy.  Some refer to these adverse developments as phobia.  It is all about being gentle with these gentle little babies.  As a note, it is equally important that ALL family members or friends be cognizant of what they are to do, or not to do, when it concerns your puppy.

Proper Nutrition Is Essential To The Growth & Health Of A Puppy

The health of a Yorkie will depend upon many factors.

Start House Training As Soon As You Bring Your Puppy Home

Most new puppy new owners are quite surprised how smart these little Yorkies can be when they first set their pads into their home.  So, it is important from day 1 that owners start their house training for those things that are important.  If bad habits develop early, it is difficult to break those habits as time progressives.  Chewing on furniture?  Clothing?  Doors?  Don’t scream, yell or be harsh to your baby Yorkie as it can easily scar them and change their personality.  Train your Yorkie in a consistent way so they understand what is acceptable today is acceptable tomorrow, or vice versa.
